I didn't know about the blue on an emus neck either! I must admit, the only time that I was up close to an emu was many many years ago! Maybe I forgot! Great shot!
We used to have an emu farm just down the road from our house in WV. If I remember right, they also have blue eggs. And they make a really neat sound, but I couldn't possibly come up with the letters to describe it here. :)

I took a photo of one last winter and up close I remember some blue on his mouth but not neck.
The blue here reminds me of a peacock blue.
