On a little visit to Lancaster County, PA
I found myself riding the Strasburg Railroad.
Like the good photographer I am,
I
our engineer's name.
But he was very nice and knowledgeable
and wearing blue!

The railroad was founded in 1832
and carried President Abraham Lincoln
After falling into disrepair in the mid 1950s,
as so many historic things do,
the railroad found a second life
The rail car I rode on was 80% original
and the railroad here is known throughout the country
I am so happy spring is here.
It has been a long winter!

I've driven by Strasburg, but never stopped. I really need to visit.
Spring is here, but we're expecting measurable snow tonight :-(
That train looks like so much fun! Great photos too!
Love those antigue trains (not for long travels:) ).
Wow, the farmer is handling 6 horses at one time! Must have some skill to do that!
Looks like a lovely trip. We must have been on the same wave-length today, except I didn't get to ride the train.
Really enjoyed your rail story! I love taking the opportunity to travel in old carriages or cars! Such a thrill! And loved your series of photos!
Beautiful countryside to take a train ride through!
the engineer looks in command of that train
how does it do in snow and sleet?
that's what's happening here right now

Beautiful farm country!
I like your train, Rebecca. It looks like a fun ride for all ages. I am glad some of those retired, etc. have the time to volunteer and help keep them going.
