Recently, I have been spending a lot of time
getting Mercerized....
that is, learning experiencing the history of Henry C. Mercer (1856-1930.)
He was quite an amazing man -
and had the foresight to leave behind a tangible legacy.
I just LOVE that.
One of his passions was the collecting of
pre Industrial Revolution Americana.
In Doylestown, Bucks County, PA
there is an entire museum dedicated to his collections.
(And pinch me...you are permitted to take photos!)
But today, I am just going to give you a peek
featuring his Cigar Advertising figures.

Mercer is 15 minutes from my house and I've never visited it, shame on me.

How wonderful you were allowed to take photos! This is a fantastic museum, one I would love to visit.
Looks like a fabulous place to visit. So glad cameras were allowed. You got some great shots. I think my favourite is the first, the angle and the expression. Oh, and the arm, of course.
I would definitely visit that place if it's near me, since photography is allowed! lol

My son watches on you-tube surfing shows, and reads techniques. Tomorrow we are driving one hour for his lessons.
Oooooh, look at these. I've never seen anything but cigar store Indians, but apparently there are many other characters. They're beautiful!

What a talented craftsman...interesting entry. Now, I wonder if I can talk My Man into getting back in shape and wrap one of those muscular, veined arms around me. Haaaaaa
