It's a plough disc cooker.
Living in the Northeastern US all of my life I had never heard of this before,
but now we have one....from Mexico no less!
My daughter is engaged to a man who grew up in Mexico.
He is currently serving in the US Navy,
but when he is home
they cook up a Mexican storm.
And it is delicious.
Maybe not very healthy,
sausage, bacon, beef, onion, potatoes...
but delicious none-the-less.
Usually they make hand made tortillas too,
but this time they cheated and bought them.
Now I find myself visiting local Mexican shops for cooking supplies.
And since my husband had a Mexican cooking class this summer-
well, we're starting to cook up a Mexican storm too.
Mmmm-mmm, my mouth is watering.
BTW...Today is National Taco Day.

That looks amazing!! You are making me hungry!
Looks real good, I love the grill. I cook of this type of food a lot having lived in AZ while in college.
Oh, man, that looks GOOD. I've never heard of a plough cooker, it's perfect for the job - very efficient!
I love exploring different cuisines. What fun for you to have an expert in the family: a whole new Mexican-cooking-world!
Excellent post Becky...love learning about, and SEEING, this :)
I remember those from my childhood! My dad and my uncles would all gather around and drink beer and talk shop about "el rancho" and cook up "tripas en un disco". You probably don't want to know what tripas are, but I'm sure your future son-in-law knows.
Thanks for bringing to mind fonds memories of my uncles and my childhood for me!
Oh it does look extremely tasty - why is it the really tasty food is never the healthy food?
Now I'm starving!!!!!!!!! That looks amazing.
That looks delicious!
Good authentic Mexican food is one of the things I miss most about Arizona (although the very best Mexican food probably comes from New Mexico). Don't be fooled by that Tex-Mex crap they purport to be Mexican food here in Texas!

I bet that was delicious!!!
I noticed on your 'Shelfari' that you read the book Sybil. Have you read 'Sybil Exposed'??? It is amazing....I guess because it is one of the subjects I teach in my Abnormal Psychology class....but Sybil Exposed blows the whole multiple personality aspect out of the water. Interesting read.
YUM! It looks sooooo good!
That looks amazing. And what a great way to spend an evening around a fire, with close family, good food and stories.
I love Mexican food, and this looks so yummy!!
Oh yum! Love the authentic Mexican food - here the little hole in the wall's restaurants are the best!
