Olde City Tattoo, 2nd St., Philadelphia
This is the area of the city where
William Penn and the Quakers first settled.
Our state, Pennsylvania, is named after William Penn.
Do you think Wm. Penn had a tattoo?

Franklin Fountain, Market St., Philadelphia
Old style ice cream and soda fountain.
Every month or so I venture into the city for photo club.
Afterwards a few of us will stay up til the wee hours of the morning
because we get totally wrapped up in photographing the city at night.
Christ Church, Est 1695, 3rd Street
This is one of my favorite areas of the city.
One of the best things about Old City
is the traditional style Colonial architecture.
So charming.
Oh, and if, in your travels
you happen on a sign for Bassett's Ice Cream...
By all means stop and buy some.
It is delicious.
Bassett's has been serving ice cream in Philadelphia for 5 generations.
My favorite flavor is Raspberry Truffle.
I forget what time we got home after this adventure,
but I am sure everyone in the house was already asleep.

Hi Rebecca! These pictures bring back good memories. Philadelphia is a great city.
Love that coffee sign. It sounds like you have a lot of fun in yuor club. Tomorrow night is our first program meeting of the year.
I'm fascinated by the second shot. It has such an olde worlde look to it, I thought it was a photo of an old picture. Great light!
Ha, I was in the same neighborhood on 2-Jan and I took a few photos of Christ Church and the Neighbor House - great minds think alike!
I, too, love that part of Philly and pretty much the rest of it too - there's a lot to like. It's a highly underrated city.
wonderful shots of your town. it is a very charming place.
with your club, do you go out places? My sis's club in school was like that. My club, we only stayed in school.
I have to visit Philly more often!! there's so much to see
I love these shots
The café picture reminds me of old b&w movies...
Lovely B&W and cool city scenes. I would like to visit the ice cream store, but Philadelphia is a little far to go for an ice cream cone. Great post, have a happy week!
The idea of once a moth photographing parts of the city really appeals to me.
