I am.
But I already know the spoiler of how Season 3 ends...
although I refuse to watch the episodes before they air in the USA.
I think it is kind of ironic though...
that America is so wrapped up in this series.
It seems we Americans are conflicted
over our feelings about the rich people we love to hate.
I am in the camp the believes wealthy people add value.
Just look at what they leave behind for us to enjoy!
And seriously, who are you going to tax
if you destroy those making lots of taxable income?
Oh, I'm not trying to make any enemies...
I just really liked touring this old mansion
and getting lost in the old world that once was.
Kind of like an American Downton Abbey.
Lambert Castle
In 1851 at the age of 17
Catholina Lambert left England for America,
the "Land of Opportunity."
Lambert became successful in the silk industry in New Jersey
and built this home in Paterson, NJ
to house his collection of art.
But in 1913 debt found him and he had to sell his art
and mortgage his home
where he continued to live until he died in 1923.
The property now belongs to Passaic County
and can be toured for a small fee.

What a lovely home. I really liked the fireplace and the violin caught my eye wondering of maker.
Without those castles, what would we tourists do? ;) I watch Downtown Abbey too and we've already had the full 3rd season here in Sweden.
I agree with you, and often consider well off people stewards of fabulous properties and homes that only they can put the funds into to preserve. All those glorious Pennsylvania stone houses and barns, those that survive anyway, are local treasures. Tax people too much and they'll sell off the property to builders who won't put anything 1/2 as fine up in their place.

I like the old furniture in Western houses.
My Uncle house has a word Peace, and a word Chinese. I suppose it could mean peaceful shelter. I just made it up.
I love Downton Abbey too but since my mother doesn't like to have the TV on (except for the news and Wheel of Fortune) I'm relegated to watching it on Netflix because I refuse to watch TV on my computer. Therefore I'm always a season behind but it's still worth it. I think we all like daydreaming that perhaps this was the way we lived in one of our past lives.
Just got hooked, in fact what I am hoping to do today is get as caught up as I can with Hulu and on line episodes!

I agree about our fascination for Downton Abbey... I bought Season 3 UK Edition and have finished up the season already... can't believe there's no more for perhaps a year??? Oh dear! I think part of the draw of the program, is a life in a more genteel time... I always told my children growing up (and even the kids on my school bus) that manners never go out of style...
