Summer began by celebrating Middle Sister's graduation

Three of us then enjoyed a vacation to San Diego
where Big Sister lives with her Navy Husband.
While we were there,
Navy Husband graduated from C-School
and was given orders to Norfolk, VA.

But then....
the doctor called
and Navy Husband was diagnosed
with Stage 3 Lymphoma.

We enjoyed a week with extended family
in Stone Harbor, New Jersey,
something my husband's family
has done for over 50 years.
Engaged 2 years,
Middle Sister announced she didn't want
a big fanfare for a wedding.
Navy Husband has more tests.
Big Sister came home and
we had a quiet ceremony
for Middle Sister
who, I might say,
has become such a wise young woman.
Yeah, I love this photo.

As Big Sister flies back to San Diego to Navy Husband
recuperating from surgery,
we all breathe a collective sigh of relief
learning that Navy Husband's most recent full lymph-node biopsy
did not show a single cancer cell.
The chemo port is scheduled for removal on Sept. 9!

Mom and Dad must be emotionally exhausted, but you will look back at these photos one day, remember the joy, and smile.
by the time I got to the end of your story i have tears in my eyes, tears of pain, then joy and what a story you have here. i am so glad there is a happy ending. your children are beautiful to look at and so smart and sensible. i know you are bursting with pride. what a roller coaster you were on...
What wonderful news! I love the wedding dress. That is exactly like something my daughter would wear, when her day comes. First she needs to find a guy though :)
Wow! What a journey and is such little space of time. Congrats on all the wonderful news--especially the cancer free. Loved all your pictures.
What a family-filled summer and so beautifully documented. And great news, cancer free.
What a summer of ups and downs!! Prayers for continued recovery and healing for your son-in-law.
Major touching post...don't even know you, but I know you now. Laurel
This is a year that will go down in the books as the Year of the Roller Coaster. Holy cow. I am breathing a huge sigh of relief for you and your family.
I just LOVE Middle Sister's dress.
Great news!! Boom & Gary of the Vermilon River, Canada.
A miracle and a wedding and lots in between. I'd say you had a very memorable summer that won't soon be forgotten..
I am so happy about the "no" cancer cells and I am excited for the newlyweds. I hope your fall adventures will be of the fun type with no sad ones mingled in.....
Your shots of all these events is priceless....
So strange how one can have this happiness, yet sadness and anxiety side by side. So good to hear the surgery went well.
You pictures are really beautiful, and tell a great story :)
I'm happy to hear this story has a miracle ending!
Great heartwarming post and photos! I'm so happy to hear the wonderful news! I prayed every night for weeks and now it's time to thank God that the cancer is gone!

Best wishes,Nessa xx
Quite the roller coaster of emotions for your summer and your family. Glad everything seems to be working out well health wise. I am new to this travel group, so this is the first time I visited your blog. I have a question: Your pictures are amazing, why have you chosen not to watermark them?
Thanks for the compliment. To watermark or not to watermark.... It's complicated. There are many older photos on my blog with watermarks. Most of those are stored on my website which automatically watermarks them for web viewing. Which is awesome. But I also store photos on flickr and have been using that more recently for travel images. The only way to watermark there is to upload a watermarked photo...but then it is watermarked forever which defeats the purpose of online storage. And if I want to print it I have to dig in my archives for an unwatermarked version. When I look back at images watermarked in such a way as to discourage theft, I find it completely distracting to the image. I hate that I did it that way. The watermark I use now could be easily cropped out. So, I don't fret about it anymore. People who steal are gonna steal. Most of my photographic income is from portraiture anyway....and THOSE images are always watermarked.
BTW...the way you have google+ configured, your blog, if you have one, is not visible for those who wish to return a visit.
This does sound like quite a full summer. I'm glad to hear the Navy Husband is doing well.
