Just Another Historic Iron Site in PA

The Lockridge Iron Works remains is something
my husband and I just discovered.

It's just about an hour from where we live -
our intended destination was the nearby Alburtis Tavern.

But we arrived early and decided to investigate the area.

There is a museum in side the building,
but that was closed when we arrived.

I love roaming through the ruins...
and he loves reading the history.
That's what makes these little adventures work for us.

Angels Watching Over Me at Huff's Union Church in Alburtis, PA

Huff's Union Church, Alburtis, PA
The church has a long history in this area
but this building replaced a previous structure in 1881.

Huff's Union Church

Alburtis is a neat area.
It is a small suburb of Allentown.
If you find your way here
check out the church,
dine at Alburtis Tavern
then visit Lock Ridge Furnace Remains.

The tavern is a great place
for railroad memorabilia.
