Spring is Flying In

The calendar says March 20.
The streets are brined,
the snow is falling,
there are no pansies at the home improvement store,
the heat is on,
I am cuddled under a blanket.
Spring?
Where?

But high in the sky there is hope -
Spring is flying in on the backs of Snow Geese.

Snow Geese create their own snow storm.
It is a thrilling sight.

Watching these birds fly in unison
is like watching the U.S. Navy Blue Angels in flight.
They twist and turn together
without colliding.
No high tech gadgets needed.

So while it is snowing flakes outside my window,
the snow of a different sort
is the one that signals spring is near.

Let's get on with it already.
