Most recently, it was the
Pssssssssssssssssss kind of expensive.
You know, the Pssssssssssssssssss that comes with a flat tire?
The not-so-fun kind of expensive.

Who would have expected a flat tire in a cemetery?
Or even worse,
in an abandoned cemetery in west Philly?
Fallen
Thankfully,
I have had enough frights and
learned not to make these trips alone.
Forgotten
So I was in good company with photo friends
when Dane from AAA came and saved the day.

Dane had us back among the living in no time.

All images are from the
largest abandoned cemetery in the USA,
the historic Mt. Moriah Cemetery in Philadelphia,
where the Friends of Mt. Moriah Cemetery
are working to preserve and restore this owner-less cemetery.
Thanks to the kind and helpful board president,
Paulette Rhone, for helping us find our way within the cemetery.

Really beautiful photos - such an interesting and haunting subject. And I mean haunting - cause I can't imagine the notion of a cemetery being abandoned! Such history. So much heart and pride to be preserved. That arched, stone gate is truly something!

I love visiting cemeteries, too. I've never had any problems. However, I do watch my back. But, I think I might freak a little, if I had a flat tire in one of them. Glad you were ok and got help quickly.
