The Lantern
Packer Row, Jim Thorpe, PA
I am a daydreamer...
and there is something about
small villages and old towns
that ignite those dreams.
Windows in a Row
Jim Thorpe, PA
I daydream of living
in such a place,
but could I?
A place where everyone knows my name.
The Village Below

There is some comfort in that,
but many times I prefer to be in my little world:
an unknown observer.
Yes, I Could Fix This Up...Or Not

I think I should let the mystery
of small towns stir in my imagination
and enjoy the anonymity of suburbia.

After all, why mess with a good dream?

Seriously, I had NO IDEA that Jim Thorpe was such a gem! Might have to take a road trip in the near future. And I'm with you...I love all that small towns conjure in my mind and imagination, and I adore spending time there. But I also relish returning to the anonymity of suburbia. To me, it's the best of both worlds. Thanks for joining in at Song-ography!
It's a little gem that oozes charm, just avoid it on weekends :-o
oh such beautiful dreamy images of your small town .. I love your first lantern image! gotta love a small town!
Very nice series.
Give me that old wooden house anytime! Wonderful pictures!
i love every single building and photo and i have always dreamed of living in a small place like this because i did from age 10 to 15 in KY and i loved it. we lived in a valley with maybe 15 to 20 houses in it, there was one general store and a small postoffice... anything else was a winding 10 miles of mountain roads and 30 miles to a real store... when i watch Hallmark movies i start to dream.... i really reallly really love that house just as it is.
Especially weekends in the fall!
What a gorgeous town!!
What a lovely little place this is, Rebecca!
I SO love the first photograph here, and that fixer-upper is just gorgeous.
I've always lived in a small town but dreamed to live in a big city! Both have their pros and cons. I just guess we have to blossom where we're planted! Lovely post and such beautiful pictures!
You've nailed it - me too...I love to visit, wander, imagine. But I don't think I'd do well living anywhere that I couldn't fade into the background pretty easily! These photos are just dreamy.
A gorgeous little town! Beautiful photos! I am with you - I like having lots of space and freedom, but sometimes I like to dream of a lovely apt. in a beautiful town with no yardwork! :) xo Karen
My oh my what a charming town you found. Loved all your shots but I think the "Windows in a Row" really caught my eye.
I have those same thoughts. I have dreamed of living up north for so long that I am afraid if it ever happens it wouldn't be as good as the vacations or the dreams. Love this place that you visited.
What a beautiful little town... looks like a great place to explore with the camera
