of everyday things
because everyday things won't always be everyday things.
He was so right.
Library Books
In my recent life situation
I haven't wanted to pick up the camera.
But every now and then something
catches my eye and I think
maybe I should photograph that.
I Love My Honda - It is 80% Made in America too.
Yup, I check those things.
As part of my healing process,
I think I will do a little project on
Everyday Things:
A Day in the Life of a Suburban Girl.
Contemplating Which to Read First
I have no idea where this will go,
but it is something
to do
to think about
to get back into the groove of life.
Who knows, this could be the only installment...
but I doubt that.

About that large print book on top...no I don't need large print.
There is a long wait list for that book
and the large print version had the shortest list
so large print it is.

I'm looking forward to your finds. The key is really interesting, and now cars don't even have keys!
I guess that dates the car...2009.
Cars without keys, that's scary...oh well I guess that date me too, haha.
I haven't read any of those books, will be interested to know what you think of them. I also like to turn a paper page!

Your instructor was very wise, how many 'everyday things' aren't anymore? Sounds like a good project to help with the healing process.

I love the idea of this project. Sometimes just doing the ordinary helps with healing and makes one feel a little more grounded. I too love the feel of pages in a book. I do carry my books on my iPad when traveling but it will never take the place of holding a book in my hands...Hugs.....
Sorry, my fingers aren't working great this morning. I was saying that I used to be a Creative Memories consultant and we would teach our clients not to crop out things that would date the picture......an example would be a 59 Chevy in the background. It's neat to go back and see those old photos and to know the period of time it was taken. I continue to pray for you and your family and hope healing comes swiftly. Look forward to more of your photos.
I'm a book gal too. And my honda (2004) most definately has a key. Kathy (you'll shoot your eye out) is sharing still life photos on Sundays - she's coined a phrase "real life/still life" .... capturing the still life shots in the every day around her instead of posing them. I'm loving her shots, and this reminds me of what she's doing. They are all lovely shots - especially liking the second one. Something about the key. Hugs to you. I hope these quiet moments of creativity bring some comfort.
Lovely thoughts and so true that what we capture today will be a form of nostalgia later. I'm with you on Kindle. I do use it some, but it really just hurts my eyes to stay on devices for long.
everyday life is all i photograph in my house and out. i take photos of bottles of Dawn and dishes in the sink, new toasters, anything at all. and i like it a lot. i am a Kindle lover and have a post on auto about large print vx kindle. have fun with your daily dose of photos.. we will be waiting... i have a photo of my keys somwhere on my blog.
How cool, my 11 year granddaughter does "spine poems." She finds book titles and stacks them to make poems. Tom The Backroads Traveller
Fantastic post and such wonderful pictures. We all tend to take everyday things for granted, until they are no longer there every day. Last year I barely touched my camera due to a severe bout of depression. I am now making myself take at least one picture day.

I don't have a Kindle either and I don't want one. There is something more satisfying about having a book in your hands to read. I really enjoyed your post, words and images and am glad I visited today from over on Communal Global. Have a great weekend ahead.
I love these photos. Simple things but yet so much meaning behind them. The first picture made me wonder what books those are, have you read them, currently reading were they a gift, school books. So glad you explained at the end. Love the one with the car key as well.
I haven't read any of these so I couldn't tell you if you would like them or not, but I hope you do. I'm a book purist too. My sister is a Kindler. Kindle...you either love it or you don't.

I have a Kindle but to be honest I much prefer a proper book, there is just something so much more wholesome about it
