Walking the Grounds of Alvethorpe Manor.

Alvethorpe Manor (built 1938)
Jenkintown, PA
Alvethorpe Manor
was once home to Lessing Rosenwald.
the son of the president and chairman
of Sears, Roebuck & Co.

Lessing moved to Jenkintown, PA
to open a catalog supply center in Philadelphia
for the company.

Scultpture Park at Abington Art Center

Rosenwald donated his home to the local township as a cultural center.
Today it houses The Abington Art Center.

The Whole World Acts a Part by Brian McCutcheon

The grounds, open to the public at no charge,
display a changing collection of sculptures.

Featuring me in Fairy Tales in Reflection: Mirror Mirror by Jeanne Jaffe

You could spend an hour here wandering the trails
among the sculptures.

But I am guessing the best time to come is in fall...

Wait Upon by Jay Walker

...when all the leaves are changing.

The Old Abington Meetinghouse on the grounds.

I bet it is gorgeous then.

An interesting place to visit. It looks like the kind of place that you just don't know what you'll come upon. Gorgeous photo's and I agree with you, I think fall would be stunning.

Beautiful grounds and buildings. I also bet mid spring with flowers in bloom would also be pretty.

Looks like a fabulous place that I would greatly enjoy. I need to find some new cool "old" places around here. I just need to get out and travel again. August has not been the best month.
