Moonlight Memories in Hatboro, PA

I went back to my old stomping grounds the other night...
it's been AGES since I had visited Hatboro, Pennsylvania.

I can identify one thing under this hood.

There was a car show, "Moonlight Memories,"
and my son-in-law - just back from CA -
was interested in going.
So we went.

Love the bumper and the reflection.

There were lots of cars
 lots of people,
and lots of memories.

A dial for everything

Some Memories from Hatboro...
Dr. Green, the dentist - which I had to walk to
Dr. Todd, the doctor - which I had to walk to
Mrs. Dudbridge, piano lessons - which I had to walk to
marched in parades (I was a bandgirl)
my first job - which I had to walk to
my second job - which I had to walk to
Hatboro Music Store, bought records, - which I had to walk to
Berlin's (Variety Store) - which I had to walk to
Santerian's Dept Store - which I had to walk to
Len's Shoe Box - which I had to walk to
Burdick's - As a little kidI stole Chicklets from them -
my mother and I walked back to confess and pay up.

and Cruising...

My first job was here.
I had to wear a lime green pant suit thing. Yuck.

Thankfully, that lasted only one summer.

I actually didn't cruise much
since I didn't have a car.
And asking my father for the family car,
well, I'd rather not ask him anything.
I'd rather walk.

 Joe Celano's Hatboro Music Shop
It stands vacant now.

But I had a friend who did ask her father to use the car
and on occasion we did cruise the town,
definitely not in a hot rod though.

What gives you the willys?

Supposedly Hatboro was one of the biggest cruise towns on the East Coast back in the day.
It was pretty crowded on cruise nights.
Bumper to bumper crowded.
But since I didn't cruise anywhere else
I wouldn't know about the biggest claim.

3.9.6...whatever that means. lol.

I was pleasantly surprised with some of the new stores and places to eat in Hatboro.
I just might have to visit again sometime soon.

I think it was a blessing that you could walk to everything like that. I have never lived anywhere that I could walk to places. we lived in a valley that was 30 miles from anything in KY and in Savannah, we were to far from downtown where everything was... loved he cars, my hubby wants a willys.. I just asked him if he knows Hatboro and he doesn't.

Ha, my Mother-In-Law worked at Santerian's. Sounds like a good show!

When we first moved to Bakersfield cruising was all the rage. Everyone cruised Chester Avenue. It was so exciting to drive by and see all the cars parked at the curb and everyone standing around chatting. I don't believe they do that anymore. And even if they all drove to Chester and parked their cars they wouldn't chat, they would all be stuck looking at their phones...hahaha :) Beautiful photos. I especially love the reflections in the bumper.
