There's A Hoosier in the Odyssey

Thanks to Bon Ami the enamel top looks great.

"A what?" I asked.
"A hoosier" he answered.

Hoosier is a type of cupboard popular in the first decades of the 20th century.

He then proceeded to tell me all about it.
I could tell, he was sold...obviously.
Help, I've inherited a Hoosier.

All things tea and coffee are stored in the top.

I really didn't want a Hoosier...
but he always puts up with the things I bring home so I needed to come up with a plan.

The calendar hangs nicely from a wire I strung inside.
From the other inside door hangs coupons and the like.

He's the one that is always saying
we need to stop accumulating and think about downsizing.
And here he is with a Hoosier in the Odyssey.

"Can you help me bring it in?" he asked.
"Alright."I responded trying to keep my composure.

Vintage Dust Collectors

Now, 7 cans of spray paint later,
here it is in the kitchen.

It looks like the family likes the chalkboard panels I
added with chalkboard paint. *Note to self....get dustless chalk.

He thinks it's great.

This is my husband's mother as a child
in front of a different Hoosier.

It seems so small to me...
were people that much shorter 100 years ago?
