Our Peacock Themed Christmas

It's been a lot of work,
but we finally have the house decorated for Christmas.


The Tree: blue, teal, purple and peacocks! 

I decided to up our game this year and go all out.


The Banister 

Being a lover of cooler colors,
I opted for a peacock theme this year.
Such pretty colors they are.
Don't you agree?


Candles

I couldn't help myself,
I set the table already.
I just had to see how it would turn out.

My husband thinks 

I've gone a bit overboard.

The Mantle 

But it has been so much fun.  

Ready for Christmas Dinner 

Don't you just love it?
It is so  festive.
I think I will tweak it to make it work for Easter too.

A Stroll Through Longwood Gardens in Winter

During the wintry months 

you can still have your fill of flora here in Pennsylvania. 

A visit to Longwood Gardens in Kennett Square will give the that flora fix you're craving.

You'll be toasty warm strolling through the gardens.



As beautiful as it is,
Longwood Gardens is really not my cup-of-tea.



It is all just a little too perfect...
with straight rows of matchy-matchy flowers.
I much prefer the whimsy of Chanticleer Gardens.



But then,
 Chanitcleer is closed in winter,
so Longwood will have to do.

I promise to bring you photos of Chanticleer
this year!
They just opened for spring!

I Spy....

On a recent trip to Longwood Gardens 

in Kennett Square, PA,

I had the opportunity to view orchids up close and personal.

Did you know,
if you look closely,
 there is a little world inside an orchid?



A macro lens brings it to life!
(Unfortunately, I could not use a tripod at this time
which would have allowed me to increase my DOF.
Yes, that's an excuse...
and I'm sticking with it.)
